Circular Economy Business Development Intern
Giulia Viero (BSc in Economics and Management, MSc in Sustainable Development) looks at present challenges with curiosity, inter-disciplinarity and an eye for detail. She thrives and believes in collaborative networks of partners – encompassing i.a. business and academia – to be able to seize current opportunities and upscale future-proof solutions. Over the past years, she has participated in various undertakings, from the Venlo Circular Challenge to the EIT Climate-KIC Programme on climate entrepreneurship and technology (becoming a network Alumna).
She currently represents ECOR at the ScaleUp4Sustainability consortium, aimed at bridging higher education and enterprise realms by engaging into student-business projects. At ECOR, she has found a dynamic environment, where daily challenges and achievements stimulate her personal ambition to create a positive impact on the natural and human environment. On this regard, Giulia supports a spectrum of projects from reporting to management and business modelling: last but not least, paddy straw valorisation in India and its impact on local farmers and the value chain.
Finally, she is passionately involved in the establishment of a Circular Economy Materials Excellence Centre as a playground for (future) designers, builders and disruptors of the linear economy model.
